Hardline Coffee
📍515 4th St, Sioux City, IA 51101

This place definitely has a vibe. As a matter of fact, there is a mini thrift store within the coffee shop. Enjoy your coffee drink on any of the eclectic, comfy couches, surrounded by lush plants and fun touches throughout that make you feel like you’re in a friend’s living room.
We learned a new term here at Hardline Coffee. They call themselves a third-wave coffee shop. This means they focus on high-quality artisanal coffee by treating it as a gourmet product.
All coffee syrups are housemade and vegan! They also had several vegan baked goods in their bakery counter.
Crave at Hilton Garden Inn
📍 1132 Larsen Park Rd, Sioux City, IA 51103

We’re familiar with this small Minnesota-based restaurant chain. In addition to six Minnesota locations, Crave also has restaurants in Fargo, ND, Sioux Falls, SD, and Sioux City, IA. We’ve eaten at several locations in Minnesota and have been happy with our meals.
Crave is a pricier option, but the food is consistently good, and we’ve always been satisfied with the service and plant-based options. They have a great drinks menu and sushi rolls. The Sioux City Crave is situated in the Hilton Garden Inn, located directly along the Missouri River. Great patio views!
Crave is a great option to eat vegan when dining with non-vegans. We recommend the Traditional Poke Bowl with Tofu (pictured left).
🌿 Dining Dusters Two Cents 1. Ask for the vegan/vegetarian menu. Modify as needed. 2. Visit during happy hour for great appetizer specials, including vegan options. We love the vegan Parmesan fries. You can even make a meal out of the appetizer options for reduced prices!
Pete’s on 5th
📍416 5th St, Sioux City, IA 51101

We loved our meal at Pete’s. The atmosphere is pleasant. They offer tofu on the menu, and our waiter was very experienced with our vegan requests. He even pointed out vegan options that we might like.
We tried the tofu appetizer. It was okay, plain, and we would skip it next time. Our meals were the traditional pad Thai and Pad Se Iew. Please request that they omit egg and fish sauce. They’re happy to oblige. Both dishes had excellent flavors.
We also had the sweet mango and sticky rice for dessert, which was perfection!
🧭 Dining Duster Detour: don’t miss Art Alley directly across the street from Pete’s, where there are 30 murals between Pierce & Nebraska Streets and 4th and 6th Streets.

Ogawa Sushi & Asian Fusion
📍5723 Sunnybrook Dr, Sioux City, IA 51106

We had a great dinner at Ogawa. It has a nice, slightly elevated atmosphere.
We recommend the Sweet Potato Roll, Jade Roll, Buddha Delight, and Pad Thai Vegetable (no egg or fish sauce) as meal choices. All were excellent, and the sushi rolls were beautiful! The Pad Thai had a different texture than we’re used to but it was very good. The real winner was the Buddha Delight- excellent flavors.
Jasmine Thai
📍4230 Sergeant Rd, Sioux City, IA 51106

This was our favorite vegan meal during our stay in Sioux City. We started with spring rolls, but wouldn’t order them again, as we prefer fresh spring rolls over the deep-fried version.
The mango Curry was absolutely fantastic. So cozy with great flavors. Savory with sweet bites.
Dusty enjoyed the Pad Thai with Tofu, medium heat, and no egg or fish sauce.
Both meals were large portions, and service was prompt and professional.
Pierce Street Coffee Works
📍 1920 Pierce St, Sioux City, IA 51104

This cozy coffee shop has a nice selection of light lunch options.
Our meal choices were the Asian Peanut Wrap and the Hummus Wrap.
The Asian Peanut Wrap had spinach, herb tortilla (omit the chicken), lettuce, cucumber, carrot, onion, and homemade peanut sauce.
The Hummus Wrap had homemade hummus topped with sweet red onion, cucumber, carrots, tomato, and lettuce on a spice herb tortilla. The hummus wrap was good, but it was a little skimpy.
Of course, they also have an extensive coffee menu with alternative milk options.
