Vegan-Friendly Restaurants in Chanhassen & Chaska, Minnesota

We have found some delicious vegan-friendly restaurants in Chanhassen and Chaska, Minnesota. We love exploring the (vegan) food scene wherever we go, so we’re sharing some of our favorite vegan-friendly options in the Southwest metro area of the Twin Cities.

Let’s face it, outside of Minneapolis/St. Paul proper, it can be hard to find exclusively vegan restaurants. But that’s OK as long as there are great vegan-friendly (and delicious) options to choose from, and it’s a bonus when you find a restaurant that works for everyone at the table.

Our Favorite Vegan-Friendly Restaurants in Chanhassen & Chaska

Though there aren’t any all-vegan establishments in Chanhassen or Chaska, you will not be disappointed. The vegan-friendly options are delicious, and one of them is also our favorite stop in all of the Twin Cities.

Because Chanhassen and Chaska are minutes apart, we’re treating them as one food destination. Why limit yourself to one city when another one is just a few miles away?

Vegan-Friendly Restaurants in Chanhassen, MN

Starting with Chanhassen, there are several vegan options.  We’re relying on ethnic restaurants in this part of the southwest metro, and they’re fantastic!

  • Location: 600 Market St Ste 160, Chanhassen, MN 55317

We also learned that Med Box Grill has multiple locations: Chanhassen, Chaska, Eden Prairie, Excelsior, Minnetonka, Shakopee, Shorewood, Waconia, so we look forward to trying some of those locations as well.

The ambiance at the Chanhassen location is very nice. Outdoor patio and nice interior.

What we eat at Med Box Grill as Vegans

We visited and ordered the falafel wrap and falafel platter, and were really impressed by the flavors and the generous portions.

It’s quite easy to find a vegan meal at a Mediterranean restaurant, or make it vegan-friendly with a few requests, as many of their dishes are already plant-based.

Vegan options at Med Box Grill include falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, stuffed grape leaves (Dusty’s favorite), salad, and other vegetables, which are usually plentiful on a Mediterranean menu, even if it isn’t necessarily labeled as vegan.

Don’t be afraid to ask your server about modifications. The staff was also very knowledgeable about our vegan requests, and we really love the customer service here.

Na’s Thai Cafe in Chanhassen

  • Cuisine: Thai
  • Location: 566 West 78th Street, Chanhassen, MN
  • What to expect: Thai food, noodles, curries, dine-in and takeout
  • Website: Na’s Thai

Thai food is one of our favorite cuisines as it’s so flavorful and a great choice for plant-based diners. Na’s Thai Cafe is a longtime Chanhassen restaurant worth checking out.

The key to eating vegan at a Thai restaurant is asking to omit fish or oyster sauce and egg. Don’t be afraid to ask your waitress to make these modifications.

Vegan options at Na’s Thai Cafe include vegetarian egg rolls and spring rolls; curries, rice noodle dishes like

Na’s is one of our absolute favorites in Minnesota. Portions are generous, and it’s consistently good. We’ve never been disappointed in a meal we’ve ordered here, so much that it’s hard to try new menu items because our “tried and true” are so good.

Dusty loves a good Pad Thai, and he loves the Pad Thai at Na’s.

Kelly loves the vegetable curry. This dish is huge, and there’s always leftovers, which are even better the next day, as leftovers usually are.

Vegetarian stir-fry is also an excellent dish. The flavors are just incredible. Add tofu, and it’s a super filling meal.

We’re known to swing through Chanhassen specifically to get takeout from Na’s on our way home to Mankato.

Lakewinds Food Co-Op in Chanhassen

  • Cuisine: food co-op, deli and grocery items
  • Location: 435 Pond Promenade, Chanhassen
  • What to expect: plant-based foods, organic groceries, prepared meals from the deli, grab-and-go items
  • Website: Lakewinds Food Co-Op in Chanhassen

We love a stop at a food co-op for a multitude of reasons. They usually carry fresh, local produce items, and you can also find new vendors throughout the store. It’s just a fun stop that we like to make when we’re traveling.

If you’re plant-based or want more plant-based items, you’ll always find some goodies at a food co-op.

You don’t have to be a member to shop here!

We include Lakewinds Food Co-Op in our list here because you can easily eat from the hot bar and salad bar, but it’s also a fantastic stop to get some grab-and-go sandwiches or dips and veggies to bring with you on a Minnesota road trip. You’ll find things much healthier than any gas station.

We recommend grabbing some goodies then heading over to explore the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Trust, you’ll spend enough time there that a snack will be welcomed.

Vegan-Friendly Options in Chaska, MN

Chaska has several ethnic restaurants that we haven’t tried yet (so many restaurants, so little time), but what we have tried is outstanding.

India Bar & Grill in Chaska

  • Cuisine: Indian
  • Location: 162 Pioneer Trail, Chaska, MN
  • What to expect: classic Indian fare
  • Website: India Bar & Grill
vegetable samosas at India Grill in Chaska, MN

India Bar & Grill has a vegan section on the menu! Any plant-based or vegan people know how exciting that is! It makes it easy to know what you’re going to get and gives you confidence that the kitchen will know what to do when you order from the vegan section.

Indian cuisine is naturally one of our favorite cuisines for plant-based dining because the Indian diet consists of vegetables, beans, lentils, and lots of cozy spices. These base ingredients lend themselves to amazing vegan dishes.

It’s fun to have so many vegan choices on a menu. It was so hard to choose, so of course we started with the samosas, which are naturally vegan. It was hard to choose, but we settled on the Vegetable Madras and Kadai Eggplant, both excellent choices.
