There is a large hotel gym with windows overlooking the fountain- beautiful treadmill inspiration.
The largest heated outdoor pool is located within Kansas City at Crown Center. We had a great view from our hotel room. We did not bring our swimming suits to take advantage, so take note if you’re planning to stay here! It would have been fun to swim outdoors in the Midwest in December.
Look closely at the picture and see the little swimming door where you can go from inside to outside.
The Link at Kansas City Crown Center
We loved that the Westin is connected to so many attractions that you don’t even need your car! The Link is an indoor, above-ground skyway system that takes you to Crown Center with shopping and restaurants.
Our favorite spot inside Crown Center was Shang Tea. This was such a lovely little tea house that served the most delightful Moon Cakes. Shang Tea specializes in white tea, which is the least processed tea. They use time-honored Chinese techniques to flavor the tea. We highly recommend stopping for a cup of tea and a Moon Cake.
You can also use the Link to walk to Union Station, which is an experience. So much to do there. We visited at Christmas, and the Union Station Holiday Reflections was going on, and it was magical.
In the opposite direction of Union Station is LEGOLAND Discovery Center, and SEA LIFE is just across the street and walkable from Crown Center. Don’t miss the Hallmark Headquarters! Take a walk through the history of Hallmark. You can even make your own Christmas Bow on the original Hallmark bow machine to take home.
Our Epic Upgrade at Westin Kansas City at Crown Center
We’re Marriott loyalists, and as Platinum Members, we requested a Suite Night Upgrade, and to our surprise, the upgrade was granted. We didn’t expect this during the holiday season.
Our room was perfect. It is so amazing and big, and we wish we had spent more time in it, but we wanted to take in everything near the hotel. We had a corner room and a junior suite with panoramic views of the National WWI Museum and Memorial.
This was the view from our room overlooking the National WWI Museum and Memorial.
To say we were happy with the upgrade and our room was an understatement. It “felt” clean—you know the feeling. It was spotless, spacious, yet homey—perfection. We had so much room to work and relax, even during the little time we were in our room.
Club Lounge at Westin Kansas City at Crown Center
With our platinum status comes access to the M Club or Club Lounge. The lounges vary from hotel to hotel. The hotel’s Club Lounge is located right from the hotel lobby.
They had chafing dishes with hot appetizers (no vegan options). They also served coffee, bottled water, and various snacks guests could grab.
